Lather well, make sure to cover every part of your hand and scrub for 20 seconds!
How do soaps work against viruses and bacteria?
Cold-process soap bars, such as we make at SOLIDU, have a high pH value. That’s why they are naturally antibacterial: bacteria cannot propagate on a pH of 9 more.
The best way to prevent transmission of viruses is by washing your hands. After washing with a soap bar, the pH of hands will be significantly higher. This will disrupt the fatty acid outer layer of the virus causing it to dissolve, break apart and consequently wash away.
It is recommended to wash your hands with soap and water often and for at least 20seconds. Washing your hands properly removes dirt, viruses and bacteria to help stop them spreading to other people and objects. You can use hand sanitizer gel if soap and water are not available, although soap is the preferred and better option.
